I love the tortoise shell markings on the leaves to the left. Both types of foliage are beautiful. :o)

Really nice combo. Can I copy it or is it patented?

Hi Casa M.,
This was completely unplanned , so I can only hold claim to recording the combo in this picture.

Hi Michael,
No patent, please copy!

Gorgeous combination, always nice to find out about a new plant as I hadn't come across the ligularia japonicum before. Based on internet images, looks like it gets pretty big, is that so?

BTW do you have the pink pulsatilla shown in your heading or whatever that part of the page is called? If so, can I ask where you got it, it's lovely.

Hi Laura,

I got L. jap. from Les Jardin Osiris outside of Montreal. It gets about 50cm high ( so far).

The pink pulsitilla is from the Papageno strain, which comes in a great variety of colours and has this feathery appearance.

Nice play on contrasting foliage textures, Barry!

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for seeds of that strain. BTW the nursery you mention sounds familiar. I have ligularia 'Osiris Fantaisie', I think that may be one of theirs.

Hi Laura,

Yes, Les Jardin Osiris has produced a number of Ligularia hybs.
