Narcissus
Narcissus minor
Narcissus 'Topolino'
The Narcissus in the greenhouse has finished blooming and now are setting seed in a quite corner. But in the garden, the blooming season is just starting, in the front I grow mostly N. cyclameneus hybrids, the first to bloom are 'Tete a Tete' and 'Topolino' and soon they will be joined by 'Jetfire' and by the jonquille 'Dicksissel'.
In the back garden I try to grow species Narcissus and have had some success with N. minor (pictured here with a Canadian Dollar coin) and N. bulbocodium, however I'm a bit disappointed that the N. cyclameneus which I've grown from seed hasn't flowered, perhaps it will later or maybe next year. I am not sure either about the N.pseudonarcissus I planted last Fall, of the 25 bulbs only 8 have appeared so far, but at least these are about to flower.

I am sorry that you have had some set backs and hope all will come well in due course.
This sudden cold spell will slow things down a bit, but I'm sure there will be more to see when you visit. I hope my Galanthus 'floro plena' won't look to mundane now that you have one of the Greaterex hybrids. Very curious to know your source, by the way.
So glad you like my choice of Narcissus. The smaller hybrids seem much more in scale in city gardens and the are certainly more refined than the "giant heads'.
As for my set-backs, although I won't achieve that host of mini golden daffodils, I will have the chance to see N. pseudonarcissus come into bloom.
The only Narcissus I've grown from seed has been N. cyclamineus. I was hoping it would be mature enough to bloom this year, but so far no luck. I planted 25 bulbs of N. pseudonarcissus last Autumn and they are coming up but only 8 have broken the surface so far. Maybe I am being too impatient.
As you well know, scale is everything.
Glad you like Narcissus. Is it possible to grow them in Chennai?
