Surprise to see a narcissus like this, I often thought they are very elegant like the paperwhites or similar like daffodils.

Thanks for visiting again James. I just got back from St. Lucia, so haven't checked my blog until this evening. Glad you like the Narcissus, they are very special. I also have some N. cantabricus, similar to these but white, they should be in bloom soon and I will post some photos when they do.

Thanks also to Blossom for visiting. St Lucia reminded me of Malaysia, same climate, same vegetation etc. So nice to get two messages from Malaysia

Do you have these growing in pots outdoors, Barry, or are they in your greenhouse? And on that thought, do you have anything growing in pots outdoors? If so, how do you manage the freeze/thaw problem?

Actually Helen, I grow the Narcissus in pots in the greenhouse. Not sure what would happen if they were planted in the ground, I suppose they would wait around and bloom in April?

I do have things in pots outside. I have two methods: 1. I bury the pots (mostly plastic) to the top in the vegetable garden or any open, unused ground. 2. I keep pots ( including ceramic) under the eves of the house. This is good for things like Semperviviums and other hardy succulents,
